System requirements

  • Mac: Apple silicon (M1 or newer) with macOS 27 or later
  • Memory: 16 GB recommended (8 GB is enough for light apps)
  • Disk space: about 65 GB free during setup, about 40 GB afterwards
  • Internet: for the one-time macOS 27 download from Apple and for licence refreshes

Intel Macs don’t need Keep86: they run Intel apps natively.

Every plan includes

  • Keep86 for one Mac (you can move it to a new Mac at any time)
  • New versions while your plan is paid, including support for new macOS releases
  • Compatibility updates: app-specific fixes and test results as we publish them
  • Email support through the contact form

7-day free trial

All features, no card required — only your email address and a 6-digit code. The trial is available once per Mac and per email address. When it ends, nothing is deleted; your kept apps stop opening until you choose a plan.

How keep-your-version works

Software you have paid for shouldn’t stop working the day you stop paying. That is why the 6-month and annual plans end differently from the monthly plan.

PlanWhile paidAfter you stop paying
MonthlyEverything, all new versionsKeeps working for 7 more days, then stops until you subscribe again
6 monthsEverything, all new versionsAfter a 14-day grace period, you keep using the last version you received, without new versions or compatibility updates
AnnualEverything, all new versionsAfter a 14-day grace period, you keep using the last version you received, without new versions or compatibility updates

Personal use only

Apple’s macOS licence allows macOS in a virtual machine only for personal, non-commercial use (and a few developer purposes), on at most two virtual machines per Mac. Keep86 is therefore sold only to individuals for personal use. There is no business plan.

Payment, VAT and cancelling

  • Payments run through PayPal. Where PayPal offers it, you can pay by card without a PayPal account.
  • Prices include VAT; your receipt shows the VAT rate of your country.
  • Cancel at any time from your account page or in PayPal. Your plan runs until the end of the period you paid for.
  • EU consumers have a right of withdrawal; the refunds page explains how it applies to digital content.

Pricing questions

When can I get Keep86, and what will it cost?

Keep86 is planned for October 2026, before macOS 28 is released. It will cost €5.99 a month, €27 for 6 months or €39 a year, VAT included, after a 7-day free trial that requires only your email address. Join the launch list and we’ll write to you only about the launch.

What happens if I stop paying?

On the 6-month and annual plans, you keep the last version of Keep86 you received, and your kept apps continue to work with it; you only stop receiving new versions and compatibility updates. The monthly plan stops working at the end of the paid month plus a 7-day grace period. You can return at any time.

How does the free trial work?

Install Keep86, enter your email address and type the 6-digit code we send you. You get 7 days with all features, and no card is required. The trial is available once per Mac and per email address. When it ends, your kept apps stop opening in Keep86 until you choose a plan; nothing on your Mac is deleted.

How many Macs can I use one licence on?

One Mac per licence. If you replace your Mac, deactivate the old one on your account page (or in the app) and activate the new one; it takes a minute. Moving a licence between your own Macs is fine; sharing it with other people is not.

Do prices include VAT?

Yes. The prices you see include VAT for buyers in the European Union, and the receipt shows the VAT for your country. Payments go through PayPal; where PayPal offers it, you can also pay by card without a PayPal account. Business purchases are not offered, because Apple’s licence allows macOS virtual machines only for personal use.

Can I get a refund?

Use the free trial first: it is the full app, so you know whether your apps work before you pay. EU consumers also have the statutory withdrawal right described on the refunds page, including when it ends for digital content you start using. If something goes wrong, write to us; we read every message.
